Unique rock-cut Buddhist stupa. Unlike any other stupa in the world, Takht-e Rostam is carved entirely into the bedrock rather than built on top of it. This monolithic 4th-century structure, shaped like a massive stone bowl, is surrounded by a deep trench and adjacent rock- cut cave monasteries, creating a surreal and spiritual atmosphere.
