By making a booking with us, making a payment for a booking, or accepting a written proposal or booking confirmation, you agree to these Terms & Conditions together with the applicable Cancellation, Refund & Rescheduling Policy and any specific terms stated in your booking confirmation or written proposal.
Submitting a general inquiry does not, by itself, constitute acceptance of these Terms or create a confirmed booking.
1. Our Services
AfghanTours provides travel planning and tour-operation services in Afghanistan.
Our services may include Scheduled Departures, Private Tours, Custom Journeys, Specialist Services, guides, vehicles and drivers, accommodation arrangements, domestic transportation, airport transfers, permit and logistical coordination, itinerary planning, and other travel-related services specifically included in a written quotation or booking confirmation.
The services included in an individual booking are those identified in the applicable itinerary, proposal, quotation, or booking confirmation.
2. Inquiries and Booking Confirmation
An inquiry, provisional request, or discussion with AfghanTours is not a confirmed reservation.
A booking becomes confirmed when:
- 1. AfghanTours accepts the booking in writing;
- 2. the traveler accepts the applicable Terms & Conditions and Cancellation, Refund & Rescheduling Policy; and
- 3. the required payment has been received.
For standard scheduled and private tours, the normal deposit is 25% of the confirmed tour price.
The remaining balance is normally due 30 days before departure.
For a booking accepted 30 days or less before departure, 100% payment is due upon confirmation.
Custom Journeys and Specialist Services may have different payment terms stated in their written proposal or booking confirmation.
A traveler’s individual booking status is separate from the operating status of a scheduled group departure.
3. Scheduled Departures
Unless a particular departure states otherwise:
Tours lasting 5 days or more
- minimum: 6 confirmed travelers
- normal maximum: 18 travelers
Tours lasting 4 days or less
- minimum: 2 confirmed travelers
- no standard maximum unless a specific capacity is stated.
A traveler counts toward the minimum only after the booking has been accepted and the required payment has been received.
An inquiry does not count.
A scheduled departure becomes Confirmed only when the applicable minimum has been reached and AfghanTours has given operational approval.
4. Minimum-Group Review
Scheduled/shared tours lasting 5 days or more are normally reviewed 45 days before departure.
Scheduled/shared tours lasting 4 days or less are normally reviewed 14 days before departure.
These are review points, not automatic cancellation dates.
If the applicable minimum or operational approval requirement has not been satisfied, AfghanTours may:
- approve operation as an exception;
- offer another scheduled departure;
- offer an alternative itinerary;
- offer a separately quoted private arrangement; or
- cancel the scheduled departure.
5. Late Bookings
Confirmed scheduled departures may continue accepting travelers after the normal review point, subject to availability and operational feasibility.
Confirmed tours lasting 5 days or more may remain available inside 30 days before departure.
During the final 7 days, normal online selection may be replaced by:
Contact us for last-minute availability
Last-minute requests require manual confirmation.
6. Private Tours
Private tours may be arranged for one traveler, subject to availability.
Private pricing is quoted separately and may differ from shared-departure pricing.
7. Custom Journeys and Specialist Services
Custom Journeys and Specialist Services are individually planned.
Group size, itinerary, price, payment requirements, cancellation conditions and other terms may differ and will be stated in the applicable proposal or booking confirmation.
8. Prices
Unless otherwise stated, prices shown with the $ symbol are in U.S. dollars (USD).
An advertised “From” price is the starting price for the applicable shared product or departure.
Private Tours, Custom Journeys and Specialist Services are priced separately unless expressly stated otherwise.
9. Standard Exclusions
Unless specifically stated as included, the following are not included:
- international airfare;
- Afghan visa fees and personal visa/documentation costs;
- travel insurance;
- medical treatment and emergency evacuation costs;
- personal expenses;
- laundry and personal purchases;
- optional activities not listed as included;
- tips and gratuities;
- meals and drinks not specifically listed as included;
- independently arranged accommodation or transportation;
- bank, card, payment-provider and currency-conversion charges where applicable.
Specific written tour inclusions/exclusions take precedence.
10. Payments
Payments may be processed directly or through a third-party payment provider.
Third-party providers may impose their own verification requirements, limits, processing procedures, currency conversion and fees.
A booking is not treated as paid merely because a traveler reaches a browser success page.
Payment is recognized when AfghanTours receives reliable confirmation that the transaction has been successfully processed.
Where a booking is quoted in one currency but processed in another, the applicable payment amount and settlement currency should be presented during the payment process.
11. Payment Verification
Payment providers may require identity or transaction verification independently of AfghanTours.
A provider rejection, verification request, delay or technical problem does not automatically cancel a booking.
AfghanTours will never require a traveler to provide a payment-wallet PIN, complete one-time password, or similar private authentication credential directly to AfghanTours.
12. Refunds
Refunds are governed by the separate Cancellation, Refund & Rescheduling Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
13. Ramadan
Ramadan is not a general closure period.
AfghanTours remains open and tours may operate during Ramadan, subject to adjustments to meals, opening hours, prayer-time scheduling, activities and evening schedules.
Relevant departures carry a Ramadan advisory.
14. Eid
Normal scheduled departures generally do not operate during the standard five-day Eid period consisting of:
- the day before Eid;
- Eid day;
- the following three days.
Private Tours, Custom Journeys and Specialist Services may be considered as special requests subject to operational review.
Religious dates may initially be estimates and later be updated following local confirmation.
15. Government Permits and Travel Permissions
Travel to certain provinces, destinations or areas may require notification, registration, travel permission, permits, or coordination with Afghan government authorities.
Where required for an itinerary, AfghanTours may provide relevant identification and itinerary information to competent authorities before or during the trip for permits, registrations, provincial travel permissions, notifications, access approvals, or related travel requirements.
Information may include the traveler’s name, nationality, passport or identification details, travel dates, itinerary and destinations, together with other information reasonably required by the relevant authority.
Government approval, registration or permission is outside AfghanTours’ control.
16. Itinerary Changes
AfghanTours may alter routes, schedules, accommodation, activities, transportation or destinations when reasonably necessary because of security developments, weather, road conditions, government restrictions, closures, local events, transportation disruption, permit requirements or other operational circumstances.
Where reasonable, we will provide an appropriate alternative.
A reasonable itinerary modification does not automatically create a right to a refund.
17. Accommodation and Transportation
Specific hotels, vehicles, domestic transport or other suppliers may change because of availability or operating conditions.
Where necessary, AfghanTours will make reasonable efforts to provide a suitable alternative.
18. Passports, Visas and Entry Requirements
Travelers are responsible for passports, visas, permits, insurance, health documentation and other personal travel requirements.
Where AfghanTours provides visa-support documentation or procedural assistance, visa issuance remains entirely at the discretion of the relevant authorities.
AfghanTours does not guarantee visa approval or admission to Afghanistan.
19. Traveler Conduct
Travelers must comply with applicable law and reasonable instructions provided by AfghanTours, guides, drivers, accommodation providers and relevant authorities.
Travelers are expected to respect Afghan culture, local customs, photography restrictions, access restrictions and other lawful requirements.
20. Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance appropriate for Afghanistan and the planned activities is strongly recommended.
AfghanTours does not provide insurance or guarantee any insurance claim.
21. Third-Party Suppliers
AfghanTours may arrange services through independent hotels, transport providers, airlines, guides, drivers and other suppliers.
We will exercise reasonable care in arranging these services.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
22. Force Majeure
Events outside AfghanTours’ reasonable control may affect a trip, including severe weather, natural disasters, armed conflict, civil disturbance, government action, border closure, public-health emergencies and transportation disruption.
Refund and rescheduling treatment is governed by the Cancellation, Refund & Rescheduling Policy.
23. Website Information
We make reasonable efforts to keep website information accurate.
The applicable written booking confirmation takes precedence if general website content conflicts with the specific terms of an accepted booking.
24. Complaints and Questions

25. Privacy
